Past Student Experiences as Academic Buddies

International Exchange Student, Semester 1, 2019 – 2020 

I did not expect my buddy to become such a good friend and am all the gladder to know that she will be joining me in my home town come the next semester, so that I can help her settle in as much as she helped me and also fortify our friendship. This may sound incredibly cheesy but reflects the utter surprise I experienced upon being matched with someone who I would not have met any other way but with whom I got along so well on even the most intellectual of levels. I am aware of my luck and all the more grateful to have signed up for the programme, I will definitely encourage my home university to think about a similar offer.

Dutch UU Student, Semester 1, 2019 – 2020 

Als je twijfelt of überhaupt niet weet of je in het buitenland wil studeren, maar je bent wel nieuwsgierig, dan kan dit programma je er een goede indruk van geven. Daarnaast is het heel leuk om mensen te leren kennen uit een andere cultuur. Het is gezellig en tegelijk leer je ook nog eens veel van elkaar.
